VOCAB MALONE holds a Master's Degree from Phoenix Seminary (2013) and engaged in post-grad work both at Talbot School of Theology (2014-2016) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (2017). Vocab's ministry focus is contextualized apologetics, research, and theology.
He hosts a livestream show on YouTube, The Street Apologist (the program began on traditional radio in 2008). Vocab has participated in dozens of debates and dialogues with adherents of Hebrew Israelism, Muslims, atheists, and others on a wide range of issues.
He is the author of Barack Obama vs. the Black Hebrew Israelites: Introduction to the History and Beliefs of 1West Hebrew Israelism (2017) and Street-Level Apologetics: Passion for the City, Clarity for the People (2022). He is also a contributing author to Our God is Triune: Essays in Biblical Theology (2018) and a freelance contributor to a variety of publications, most notably, the Christian Research Journal.
Vocab enjoys hip hop culture and nostalgic geekdom. He resides in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
ADDITIONAL BIO
Vocab Malone was born and raised in the Southside of Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated from Marion-Franklin High School. AS A TEENAGER, VOCAB began attending local open mics, such as the Midwestern underground staple, The Groove Shack. He formed a group with John Reuben, Tony Wray from Hazakim and others, called the Showcase MC’s, and performed collectively at Christian clubs, churches, and youth groups.
After completing an AAS at Columbus State, he moved to Phoenix to earn an AA in Ministerial Studies at Phoenix First Pastor’s College. In Phoenix, he branched out as a solo artist, performing at house parties, dive bars, and block party outreaches in the Southwestern / WEST COAST REGION OF THE UNITED STATES. It was during this time he began participating in REGULAR street evangelism, which drove him to a passion for street-level apologetics.
